What is khokhols meaning?

Khokhols is a derogatory term used in Ukraine to refer to ethnic Russians who live in Ukraine. The word "khokhol" historically referred to a traditional Ukrainian hairstyle where hair is braided and tied in a knot on the top of the head. However, the term has come to be used as an offensive slur against Russians in Ukraine due to the historical tensions between the two countries.
